The grounds of TNT Speedway offers full concessions, souvenirs, great food and drink at reasonable prices, as well as clean and modern restroom facilities. Giveaways for the fans, autograph sessions, rides in races cars for the kids, plenty of racing action make TNT the Place to Be every Saturday night. WISSOTA sanctioned Midwest Modifieds and Streetstocks highlight the weekly program, and the TNT Purestocks, Pro Trucks, 600 Micro Sprints, Junior Sprints and TNT Stingers add tons of excitement to the night. If you have never been to TNT Speedway before, you need to do it!
Easy to find, the track is located right on Highway 45 just six miles south of Three LakesThe 1/3 mile high banked clay oval opened in May of 1995. Once a vacant forty acre parcel of land, TNT Speedway is a true labor of love which was built by the owners, friends, family, sponsors, race fans, and the racers themselves. The race track grounds include full concession stands, souvenir booths, clean modern restrooms, bleacher and picnic table seating for the fans, and a dynamite race track with high banked turns to keep the racing action right in front of the fans.
The "pits" are located outside of the infield, which allows the fans a completely unobstructed view of the entire track. Daring passes, rollovers, crashes and plenty of high speed action await fans each night.
Fans will find a great variety of food and drink, souvenirs, prize giveaways, a covered pavilion area, and often, in the chilly fall season, a campfire to gather around after the races. As always, the TNT Motor Speedway family and the entire staff invite you to spend your Saturday Nights at TNT Speedway, and promise to do everything in their power to ensure you a dynamite night of family fun and excitement.
How it began!
In November of 1993, Tim and Patti Rutzen purchased the 40+ acre parcel of land that today houses TNT Speedway. The Rutzens say that there was definite talk of building a racetrack at that time, but talk was all it was at that point. If nothing else, they thought it would make good hunting property. The following spring it was time to clear the many tons of "treasures" that seem to gather on vacant property over a fifty year period. With an old farm tractor and a old dump track, slowly the property began to empty out and the "possible" racetrack was designed.
Some wonderful memories, good laughs and great times, surround those early building months. Under some very primitive conditions, a small group of people banded together and build TNT Speedway. Starting as early in the morning as the weather would allow, work continued each day 'til dusk and usually ended with a meal, campfire, some building suggestions, and a lot of race talk, before everyone headed home after a hard days work.
Spring of 1995 found everyone scrambling as the race season was coming soon. An enormous amount of work followed and on May 29, 1995, TNT Speedway held their Inaugural race.
For 2012, a local group of racers and fans have formed the THREE LAKES TNT SPEEDWAY LLC to take over the management of the track for the 2012 Racing season, with the goal of continueing the great tradition of the TNT Speedway!
A new beginning in 2017, as the track was sold to Toby Rott, who plans on a limited schedule for 2017 and progressing onwards in the future.
